Colorado Board of Health Rule-Making
We’re “jazzed” to announce that on April 17th the Colorado Board of Health unanimously adopted the revised Colorado Code of Regulations 1014-7 Core Public Health Services. Public Health Steering Committee Co-Chairs Rick Ritter, Taryn Baily and CALPHO ED Tracy Anselmo testified in support of the rule change, describing the robust stakeholder process and the importance of this work for advancing public health in Colorado.

Cost Assessment
Habile presented at the CALPHO Public Health Transformation meeting on the cost assessment. The recording and the presentation can be found HERE.

The cost assessment is mandatory and it takes the place of CDPHE’s Annual Report. The completed assessment will be due at the end of June 2019.

Highlights of Habile's presentation include:
• This will require a team approach across your agency – start planning now

• Designate a point person for the cost assessment, if no one is designated, the agency director will be the default

• There are multiple and varied technical assistance and tools, and multiple opportunities for in person technical assistance

• Timing to complete this in other states had varied from 8 hrs total for a small organization to 40 hrs for a larger organization

• Preparing ahead as possible by reserving some blocks of time during the months of May and June to complete the assessment

An example email to send to staff to prepare them for this process can be found HERE (thank you Jeff Zayach for letting us share).
