Transformation Focus Groups to Start Work in December
Now that the state’s public health leadership has agreed on terminology for the foundational “bucket” areas, we must now begin defining the capabilities and services more precisely. This work will happen in focus groups for each capability and service. Each group will meet over Zoom and will be facilitate by a CALPHO or OPPI staff member. To reach the best definitions for our purposes, we need a mix of professional and lived experience, subject matter expertise, and leadership levels. Please speak with your directors about participating and email Tracy with any questions. The schedule for December and January can be found in the November Transformation Update Email here.

NACCHO Big Cities Health Coalition and CSTE Release Epidemiology Workforce Report
The Big Cities Health Coalition (BCHC) and CSTE surveyed 27 large public health agencies to determine the state of country’s urban epidemiology workforce. The report revealed that, on average, there is adequate epi workforce capacity, but many areas are critically under-resourced.
