Input Needed: Your Experiences with HTP Hospital Stakeholder Engagement
We learned about hospital transformation program (HTP) from HCPF’s new director, Kim Bimestefer, at the December 2018 CALPHO Directors meeting. Since then, hospitals have held some of their first “community health and neighborhood” meetings, which are a required part of HTP. If you have participated in any of these meetings or heard about them from people who attended, please let us know your impressions. Email Tracy with your input. Thanks!

State Board of Health Votes Unanimously to Adopt Revised PH Rules
Thanks to so many of you who contributed time and effort to the focus group sessions that produced the revised Colorado Code of Regulations 1014-7 Core Public Health Services. After testimony from Rick Ritter, Taryn Bailey, and Tracy Anselmo, the CO Board of Health voted unanimously to adopt the rules. This is an important milestone for public health transformation and would not have been possible without your dedication. Thank you!

Transformation Cost Assessment Launches Next Week. Here’s How to Prepare.
The cost assessment, which takes the place of CDPHE’s annual report, is mandatory and due by the end of June 2019. Habile consulting recommends that you take the following steps to make this as smooth a process as possible:
  • This will require a team approach across your agency – start planning now.
  • Designate a point person for the cost assessment, if no one is designated, the agency director will be the default.
  • Take advantage of the multiple and varied technical assistance and tools, and multiple opportunities for in person technical assistance.
  • Timing to complete this in other states had varied from 8 hrs total for a small organization to 40 hrs for a larger organization.
  • Preparing ahead as much as possible by reserving some blocks of time during the months of May and June to complete the assessment.

Kudos & Accolades
